Cr Jane Touzeau will be performing the opening Ceremony along with our Vice Commodore Ross Lloyd and Treasurer Rob Anderson, the bar will be open, we will have live music and free BBQ.

AGM 2016 Vote in New Committee

Elwood Sailing Club’s annual general meeting was held on August 25th, 2016.
Thanks to all members who attended.
Following the meeting the club’s new directors are:
Joseph Picone           Commodore
Ross Lloyd                 Vice Commodore
Mike Wold                   Rear Commodore
Rob Anderson            Treasurer
David Wilkinson         Secretary
General Committee seats held by, Doug Haig, Dan Osinga, Ben Dixon, Freek Wetzel and Robert McQuade.
The meeting thanked outgoing commodore Mark Foster for his leadership and commitment to the club and also to Fay Foster for her ongoing support.

2016 ESC Presentation Night Photos

This year the 2016 ESC Presentation Night was held in the Banquet Room of the Milanos Brighton Beach Hotel, and a very enjoyable time and meal was had by all who attended.

Club Person of the year was very well deserved by Mike Wold, who was the ESC main organiser of the ISAF world championship, held at St Kilda (Royal Melbourne Yacht Club).
Junior Sailor of the Year was Clement Lambert,
Female Sailor of the Year was Elizabeth Lambert,
Veteran Sailor was Ken Robinson,
John Pyers Trophy went to Ross Lloyd,
The Bill Mac Trophy went to Dan Osinga and Craig Fingers, and
Champion of Champions was awarded to Geoff Craig and his two sons.

Winter Sailing at Elwood

winter sailing Winter sailing is on at Elwood again this year.
Dates are first and third Saturdays of the month, except for July because of Federal  Election.

3 September, 17 September

Racing from 1200hr (decision to race 1100hr).
We will be using a low-key format, up to 3 races with target time 30min, simple course. No aggregate score for series, presentation at the bar on conclusion of racing each day.
Entries on the Day:  Elwood Members and Associates no fee, visitors $5.00 per day.

Kate brings a wealth of experience from her competitive sailing background to her professional knowledge in program management and looks forward to building a platform for junior and youth sailors here at Elwood Sailing Club. Kate also works as the Communications Officer for Yachting Victoria. Please introduce yourself if you see her around the Club.
