Membership Types

Senior
the default membership – if you don’t meet any of the following categories of member then you are a senior!
Family
includes yourself, your partner; and your children who are eligible for junior membership.
Junior
for a person under 18 or if a full time student under 21 years old (as of 1 July in the membership year).
Senior Student
for an individual member who is a full time student over 21 years old and less than 26 years old (as of 1 July in the membership year).
Social
for those interested in the club and use of it non-sailing facilities and takes no part in boating/sailing activities.  Upon payment of $45 the Social Member will receive $45 worth of ESC Bar vouchers to be used during the 08/09 season at club events. For this type of membership we require contact details (preferably email)
Patrol
member of the Rescue Patrol team.  Requires the member to be rostered for duty for 10 days per season.
Honorary
an honorary member as appointed by the Committee for no more than one year with full privileges except cannot hold office or vote.
Life
for our most esteemed members who have provided special service to the ESC over many years.

What are Yachting Victoria fees for?

The Elwood Sailing Club is a member of Yachting Victoria (YV) which is in turn a member of Yachting Australia (YA). The membership fees paid support these organisations in their activities in organising, representing and promoting sailing at all levels. It also includes a personal accident insurance cover whilst engaged in sailing activities. For specific details visit the YV website for further information.

Boat Storage

Boat & Board storage is available for financial senior, family, & life members.  Boat racks or Sailboard lockers will be allocated annually to qualifying members based on a points system, and ratified by the General Committee, as follows:

1 point – For every race day in the last 3 seasons
2 points – For every duty day for the last 3 seasons

Junior member boat storage is available and will be ratified by General Committee. Junior boat storage will be ongoing provided the junior sails & races regularly to the satisfaction of General Committee

A condition of storage at ESC is that the member agrees to remove boat/board and equipment within 30 days of written notice from General Committee. Failure to remove as per request will result with confiscation of all by the club.

Boat & Board Storage Procedure

Boats for boat racks – points will be calculated using the Race entry card. Race entry shall require the race day date stamped on the card by Tower staff. “Duty” shall be stamped underneath the appropriate duty date. Each stamp shall count for 1 storage point.

Boards for storage lockers - points will be calculated using the Race entry card. “Race Day” shall mean any of the 7 days prior to Race Day and will require the race day date stamped on the card by Tower staff. Duty shall be stamped underneath the appropriate duty date. Each stamp shall count for 1 storage point.
