All members are encouraged to attend the Elwood Sailing Club Half Yearly General Meeting scheduled for Saturday 16th February 2013 at the club rooms, the meeting should commence around 5pm or possibly a little later if people are still tiding up after sailing.

Website troubles..
Last Friday our website went blank all by itself. We have been working on resolving the issue and are getting closer to working it out. In the meantime we have managed to get the site going using an old default page layout so that you can get to the information you need.

Elwood Sailing Club partners with Elwood Primary School
Elwood Sailing Club is proud to partner with Elwood Primary School to offer free learn to sail courses to grade 3/4 students. Sailing is a sport that fosters independence and self reliance while having fun on the water.
To go in the draw for the free courses, students need to contact their teacher. Who knows? Maybe these kids will be competing for Australia in the 2020 Olympics just like all the great sailors!

Congratulations team Australia!
Congratulation to all the Australian Olympic Sailing team for their great efforts and successes at Weymouth, including Gold medal winners Tom Slingsby (at last!) in the Mens Lasers, Nathan Outteridge & Iain Jenson in the 49er (after a Silver last time), Mathew Belcher & Malcolm Page in the Mens 470 (again!) and Silver for the Women’s Elliott 6 Match Racing team of Olivia Price, Nina Curtis & Lucinda Whitty (pity about that big roundup in the third race!), and not to forget hometown favorite, former ESC Sabot and World Laser Radial Champion Krystal Weir (pictured) who competed in the Ladies Laser Radials and all the other Australian competitors & officials.

Elwood Sailboarder 2012 Champion – Matteo Antonaroli!!
The Elwood Sailboards Twilight Summer Series was held over 6 Thursday nights between 19 Jan and 1 Mar 2012. The clear winner, through perseverance, enthusiasm and flair was Matteo Antonaroli – our visiting Italian waiter. We don’t know where in the world he is right now, but there will always be a bit of him here at Elwood Sailing Club where his name will be engraved on the prestigeous ESC Sailboarders Trophy.
