Congratulation to all the Australian Olympic Sailing team for their great efforts and successes at Weymouth,  including  Gold medal winners Tom Slingsby (at last!) in the Mens Lasers, Nathan Outteridge & Iain Jenson in the 49er (after a Silver last time), Mathew Belcher & Malcolm Page in the Mens 470 (again!) and Silver for the Women’s Elliott 6 Match Racing team of Olivia Price, Nina Curtis & Lucinda Whitty (pity about that big roundup in the third race!), and not to forget hometown favorite, former ESC Sabot and World Laser Radial Champion Krystal Weir (pictured) who competed in the Ladies Laser Radials and all the other Australian competitors & officials.

Elwood Sailboarder 2012 Champion – Matteo Antonaroli!!

The Elwood Sailboards Twilight Summer Series was held over 6 Thursday nights between 19 Jan and 1 Mar 2012.   The clear winner, through perseverance, enthusiasm and flair  was Matteo Antonaroli – our visiting Italian waiter.  We don’t know where in the world he is right now, but there will always be a bit of him here at Elwood Sailing Club where his name will be engraved on the prestigeous ESC Sailboarders Trophy. Good condition plywood Sabre Dinghy for sale (1579). SOLD

Bought 12 months ago for $2750 with road trailer, plus brand new beach trolley worth $750 which has been bought since.

Stored under cover at Elwood SC and hasn’t been used on account of owner racing keel boats. A Class Measurement Certificate.

End of Season BBQ Saturday 28th April

The days are getting shorter, the water’s getting colder and winter approaches so its almost time to sail forth for the season and head to the footy! (or the snow if you’re a Demons supporter :(… )

 To celebrate the close of yet another race season we will be clearing out the fridges next Saturday and charring up a storm on the BBQ deck, so we want to see all our ESC members and their family & friends come along after sailing (around 4.30- 5pm or earlier if it’s blown out) and get in for your free chop, banger or vegi burger at the annual ESC End of Season BBQ.

The bar will be open from 1pm, so be there early to get the best spot on the deck and prime cuts off the grill!
