Power Boat Handling Course
Do you want to learn to drive a small Powerboat?
Would you like to man a rescue boat to support your Club?
This Program will provide you with the necessary skills for the safe use of small Powerboats, including the equipment to be carried, knowledge of seamanship, navigation and weather.
We will be running a course in July or August. To register your interest please email the Club Manager at manager@elwoodsc.com
A Class Open Lightning Championship 12-13 April
Elwood Sailing Club is hosting the A Class Open Lightning Championship for International A Class Catamarans on 12th and 13th of April 2014. There will be three races on each day, back to back with a target time of 40mins per race. Continue reading
Trainees & New Members Welcome BBQ – Noon Sat 5 April
All recent trainees and new members are invited to come and join the club committee members and class representatives after the last day of training for a free BBQ. Get to meet some of the club members and find out about the boats they sail.
Sailing Instructions updated (23 Mar 2014)
The Sailing Instructions for 2013-14 season has been updated as of 23 March 2014.
The changes are :
- removed the reference to Abandonment (was SI 13) as it’s now as per the blue book.
- SI 11.6 amended to read ESC Financial members

2014 Top of the Bay Results
The Top of the Bay race was held on 8 February 2014 in an 8 to 12 knots southerly with 68 boats competing. Click here for full results boat by boat.
- First Catamaran “Capricorn” Aus 04 F18
- First Monohull “Black Jack” Aus 21 Flying Dutchman
- First Team Elwood Sailing Club
- Second team Port Melbourne Yacht Club
- Third team Altona Yacht Club
Note : 10 entrants are required for a club to achieve a team result. Other clubs participating with less than 10 entrants were Albert Park Yacht Club, Albert Sailing Club, Williamstown Yacht Club and visitors from Royal Brighton Yacht Club, Black Rock Yacht Club.
