{"id":6456,"date":"2020-05-29T15:30:34","date_gmt":"2020-05-29T04:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.elwoodsc.com\/blog\/?p=6456"},"modified":"2024-05-12T15:40:01","modified_gmt":"2024-05-12T04:40:01","slug":"esc-re-opening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elwoodsc.com\/blog\/esc-re-opening\/","title":{"rendered":"GOOD NEWS WE ARE ON THE WAY BACK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>\u00a0 From Monday 1st June<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reopening for Recreational Sailing and Boat Maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nrelaxation of the COVID rules concerning gatherings and sports the club will\nreopen for recreational sailing and boat maintenance on Monday June 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfollowing requirements when attending the club are intended to be in line with\nthe Victorian Government COVID19 community health regulations and advice as\nthey apply to boating and sailing, and the Australian Sailing guidelines. The\nspecific plan for ESC has been approved by the City of Port Philip Council and\nmust be complied with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Use of Club facilities<\/strong><ol><li>Only members intending to sail\/board\nor maintain their boat\/boards may attend. Members should not attend for social\ngatherings.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Only the boat\/board storage areas\nwill be open. The change rooms, toilets and upstairs areas remain closed.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Changing in the storage area is not\npermitted. If you plan to sail or SUP you must arrive dressed ready for that\nactivity, and then change back at home.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Indoor activities remain prohibited.\nBoats or equipment required for sailing or maintenance are to be removed from\nstorage and taken outside as quickly as practicable.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>No more than 4 people at a time are\npermitted in the boat storage area.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>To ensure good air circulation the\nfront and rear doors MUST BOTH be open when people are inside the storage area,\nand must be closed again after the boat and equipment have been removed<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Boats can be rigged in the trailer\npark area (max 10 boats) and the grassed area south of the trailer park and\nnorth of the bike path (max 10 boats). The beach may also be used for rigging,\nwith no more than 20 people in a gathering.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Entry and Exit <\/strong><ul><li>Entry and exit are only through the\nfront roller door. The front and rear doors must be closed when no-one is\ninside<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The key fob must be used to enter for\nthe first time in a day, even if the door is open at the time. A member\u2019s key\nfob must not be used by any other person.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>A registration and sign-off sheet will\nbe provided on the sign-on bench inside the front door. You will be asked to\nconfirm you have read and will comply with these requirements. This is to be\ncompleted on entry and exit every time you attend. Please bring your own pen. A\nclub pen will be available and must be cleaned before and after use with the hand\nsanitiser or wipes available.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Hygiene and Social Distancing<\/strong><ul><li>It is your responsibility to maintain\nsocial distancing requirements and follow hygiene requirements<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Follow public health requirements and\nguidelines for reducing the transmission of COVID 19<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Members are encouraged to download\nthe COVIDsafe app and to have the flu vaccine<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Stay at home if you have any cold or flu\nsymptoms and seek medical advice.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Report a positive COVID19 test to the\nManager <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>If you notice a member who has\nsymptoms consistent with COVID19 (fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough,\nsore throat and shortness of breath) then please contact the manager<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Maintain 1.5m distancing. Do not\nshake hands.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Use the hand sanitisers provided. Soap\nwill be provided next to the hose inside the front door<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Cover your mouth and nose with a\ntissue or sleeve during coughing or sneezing<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Use only your own equipment wherever\npossible. After using club or borrowed equipment, or touching commonly used surfaces\nsuch as handles, hose taps, switches, clean with the disposable wipes and\ngloves provided. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The storage area and common touch\npoints will be cleaned in the morning and late afternoon.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Sailing<\/strong><ul><li>Single handed boats\/boards are\npermitted. Boats with 2 people on board are not permitted unless they are\nfamily members residing at the same address.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Club SUPs can be used. Before and\nafter use the board must be hosed clean and the paddle handle wiped with the\nwipes provided.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Club sailboats can be used but ONLY\nif organised in advance the class representative and normal procedures followed\nincluding supervision as appropriate. The boat must be cleaned before and after\nuse.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>As always sail only within your\ncapability and preferably at the same time as other members of the club. Only\ngo sailing or boarding if the sailing conditions and forecast are within your\ncapability and you can safely return to shore unaided in the event of gear\nfailure. Always alert others to your plans so they can raise the alert if you\ndo not return as scheduled.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Access to our Manager<\/strong><ul><li>If you wish to contact Amanda please\ncall or email her.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>You may also knock on the external\ndoor to the foyer and she will come out to see you if possible.
